Fairlop house

Elmbridge School,

Cranlerigh,

Surrey,

Dear Stephen

I hear from our Headmaster, Rev.K.N.Senior, that

you have been awarded a place in our school and that you have

been allocated to our house. We congratulate you, for naturally

we think that Fairlop is the best of all houses, and we all

look forward to welcoming you amongst us next term.

I am sorry that I can not write to each of you

personally, but have to send a duplicate letter instead, but

we are all very busy at the moment with examinations and end of

term activities, and I thought you would like to hear from us as soon as possible.

It is very difficult to describe our House and our

House routine in a letter, especially as it varies slightly every

year, but later on in this letter, I will descibe a typical day

to give you some idea of what to expect. I know that some of you

have already visited the School with friends already pupils here,

and that some of you are planning to come down now that you know

you have a place. Can I therefore invite all of you to come down

and meet us any time before the end of term ? I would especially

like to meet your parents before you start next term if they can

manage the time to come down. In actual fact, although it is

rather short notice, next weekend, July 1st or 2nd, would be an

excellent time, for the School has its 'Open weekend' with displays

of work, music concert and P.E. display (Sunday only) and of course

all the staff and boys will be ther. If you do decide to come down

either next weekend, or any other time, will you ask one of your

parents to drop me a line so that I can expect them and make

arrangments to meet them ?
