Here are the photo's that I have managed to recover from a bad state of repair, lost for many years in the family attic.

Mr Barrett's 5th Year Art Group 1967. From left to right Paul Frith, Carl Howson, ?, Keith Powling, Richard Lunn, ?, Robin (Double Diamond) Whateley-Harris and Martin Rouse. We were amazed that Barrett allowed us to buy beer that day. Can anybody recognise who it is in the floppy hat? The boy looking down could be Andy Mead or Andy Fisher.

Second page - Art Group in the Van: Keith Powling, Richard Lunn and Robin Whateley-Harris on the right. Mr Barrett is driving.

Bingo night with Dick Newman. The only other person I recognise is Cliff Mills in the picture on the left in pyjamas.

Bonfire Night: Top: Getting ready in the driveway to march.

Above: Marching past the new hall.

Above: Throwing our torches on to the fire.

Left: As the fire takes hold you now have a choice. a) Stay close to the fire and masters where you're safe, or b) Run like hell and hide in the dark from the bullies. I preferred to take my chances in the dark, it was far more exciting!

The Canal in winter taken from the tank bridge. On the right is a picture I took in 1998 on a visit back to the tank bridge.

The Fire of '65: This is the view that greeted us outside Roding dormitory at around 3am, the building in the foreground is the ablutions block for Roding and Forest.

View from the new hall

The Fire subsides under a deluge of water from the Fire Engines.

The Morning after.

Oops!

Clifford Mills and David Mitchell, the two top athletes in our year. Dave became Head Boy.
Where are they now? Above right: Fairlop House, spring time. Below: The entrance to Elmbridge.

Boy’s v Old Boy’s: Keith Hagger (blue) makes easy work of tackling an Old Boy.

Rugby was introduced (or reintroduced) during my time at Elmbridge but was never as popular as football.
I don't recognise anybody here.

Scalextric: My GT40 is hurtling down the straight on the track we erected in the Chemistry Lab. when Tim Hales was our Chemistry Teacher - spectator unknown.

Messing about in the canal: I think this is Carl Howson
Below - Tom's Tank: Tom Gardner in his Land Rover.

Winter Slide: On the playground between the new hall and the classrooms.

This was called "Keep the Kettle Boiling"

I hope you can use these photo's for your web site John. I don't have much more of interest.
I've found your site and see that I am top of the list of your Then and now stories.
Below is a picture of me then for you to add to that section.

Kind regards and keep in touch

Pete Remfry
