PASSING AWAY OF DORIS BARRETT
You will recall that I wrote to you on 24 November 2007 to advise that Doris Barrett, the wife of former Elmbridge School art and music teacher
Arthur Barrett, died very peacefully at home in Winchester on 20 November 2007. One of Arthur' s and Doris' s two daughters, Jenni, and her husband
John were with her at the time.
I now show below a copy of a letter that Jenni wrote to me dated 13 December 2007:

Dear Tony
Please forward our grateful thanks to all the Elmbridge School 'old boys' (and old masters) who wrote such kindly messages to us on the death of
Doris. Their memories of Arthur in particular were very welcome and gave us great pleasure.
Thank you for all your help.
Jenni Sabine and family
Ann Colbran, David Le Shirley, Keith Farrow, Glyn Llewellyn, Clive Thomas and I all attended Doris' s funeral on 3 December 2007 at St Margaret' s
Church, Church Street, Warnham, Horsham RH12 3QW, United Kingdom.

PASSING AWAY OF DORIS BARRETT
You may remember Arthur and Doris Barrett. Arthur was an art and music teacher at Elmbridge School between September 1958 and when he retired in July 1975. They had two daughters Hilary and Jennifer (Jenni).
Unfortunately Arthur died on 28 July 1978 at the age of 68 and it is now with regret that I advise you that Doris died very peacefully at home in Winchester on 20 November 2007. Jenni and husband John were with her at the time. Born on 22 July 1909, Doris attained the wonderful age of 98.
Her funeral is to be held on 3 December 2007 commencing at Noon at St Margaret's Church, Church Street, Warnham, Horsham RH12 3QW, United Kingdom and Jenni has advised that her family would be delighted if you would like to attend. If you are unable to attend the funeral but wish to send a message of condolence please forward it to me and I will ensure that Jenni receives it.

I have received an E-mail from Peter Kent 1950 - 1954 in regard to another student.
Message reads
John William Michael Kent 1947 - 1948
Student name at the moment in list of old boys
M Kent M being for Michael although correct name was
John
William Michael. Whether He was known at school as John or
Michael
I don't know I would have thought John.
I believe he was
Head boy for part of the 18 mths he was there,
though cannot
confirm this but would be interested to know if anybody knows.
